Addelyn and Savannah weekend

Welcome Savannah Grace Farnsworth to the family. She was born on May 12, 2011 at 12:23 pm. We came home from the hospital Saturday afternoon around 1:30pm. All she has been doing since then has been eating and sleeping. It's crazy The first night at home wasn't too bad either. She wasn't really ever crying, but we got her up two or three times throughout the night to feed her (and so it begins). At least this time around, we know what to expect, but as I have heard over and over again, you can't expect a different child to react the same exact way. One thing that I thought as well is that you can never try and compare your kids with each other. Take my siblings for example, we all live in different places, New York, San Diego, Orem, Minneapolis, and San Francisco. If you were to ask us 15 years ago where each of us would be living today, you would have never guessed that. So what I am trying to say is that you just have to adapt to each individual child. Learn their personalities and just have fun with them. If we try and compare, then we will never get to enjoy them. I guess it's just crazy to wonder by looking at this picture, what will happen to this girl? But, we'll just let those questions take care of themselves. I am just so grateful to have another girl in my life who I will be able to love so much because she is our child. I truly appreciate Crissi for sacrificing nine months of her life to create such a beautiful baby.

Addelyn's birthday was on Saturday. She turned two years old. As you can tell, she was having a lot of fun with the balloons. We had a small birthday party for her right after we got home from the hospital. Addie got two dolls, doll accessories, a 50 piece tea-cup set, a mini table chair set, and a doll-size car seat, clothes, and a few other house items to play house. Let's just say since Saturday afternoon, Addie has been feeding her doll milk, burping her, feeding her doll milk beneath Crissi's nursing cover, and putting her baby down for a nap in the basinette. (I tried taking the baby doll out of the basinette, but Addie got mad at me and told me no because the baby was sleeping in it). Addie is loving having baby Savvy around. She is always wanting to hold Savannah whenever she isn't holding her own dolly.

This new chapter in our lives definitely will be really interesting. Even though I am now outnumbered three girls to one boy, I wouldn't change it for anything. We were in the craft store last week, and I came across this little saying that was painted on a tile piece, it said "It's great to have a home, it's great to have a family, but to have both, it's a blessing." I definitely agree with that saying. I am so grateful for the chance Heavenly Father has given me in trusting me with two of his daughters to raise and teach them in this earthly life. What a blessing it is to be a father.

Great comments Dave. It took me a minute to figure out you were the one writing it. Can't wait to meet the little one!
